Memorials - Diddy Widdy |

Diddy came to us late last year in a terrible mess. She was handed to us as a dying dog, who couldn't walk and was incontinent. She smelt awful and was howling continually as she was in so much pain. We took her to the vets thinking there was nothing they could do for her, but amazingly there was. The vet was convinced that she was not dying or incontinent at all and showed us the reason she could no longer walk was that she had overgrown nails growing approximately 1 inch into the pads on her feet. Her mouth was bloody and her ears were overflowing with discharge from a massive infection. The vet gave Diddy a course of strong antibiotics and some ear drops and sent her home with us. The transformation was brilliant and surprised us all. Within a day Diddy was walking and was definitely not incontinent. She was however, full of infection with very bad skin through laying in her own urine and accesses in her mouth. As she progressed we took her for a second visit to the vets during which she had 11 bad teeth removed (poor thing). Following this, Diddy had a new lease of life and was placed in a foster home with her new friend Raz the Jack Russel. The pair soon became inseparable and would follow each other everywhere. Diddy loved going for her daily walks in the park and never missed an opportunity to stand in front of you making a howling noise and then rolling on her back for you to tickle her tummy. We would like to thank Mr Dutta and the nurses at Aspen Vets and everyone at Sidcup veterinary Practice for their care of Diddy Widdy. Also we would also like to say a very special thank you to our fosterer Eileen for looking after Diddy so lovingly. Diddy Widdy was such a brave little lady and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. |
