Dear Animal Samaritans

Here are some photos of Shelby our Jack Russell/Sheltie Cross. We rehomed her from A.S. in December 2005 after she was picked up as a stray.

Shelby is absolutely adorable, quite cheeky and occasionally a little vocal, but hey! she is wonderful and why shouldn't she shout about it!

Shelby is an absolute joy and our house now feels like a home with her in it. She is great with the kids (Jade 12 & Ryan 15) as they burn off each others vast amount of energy!

Thank you to Lisa & Mo in Welling for bringing us together, we cannot imagine life without her.

Here are some photos for your gallery they were taken at Christmas and just recently by the stream behind our house where Shelby meets up with all the doggy friends she has now made. We think she is a star, just like the Animal Samaritans.

Thanks again

I thought I would write and let you know what a lovely dog my Bonnie has turned out to be.

You took her in (fosterer Sarah in Hither Green) around January time 2 years ago and at the time she was a very poor little thing, badly overweight, fleas, worms, bald patches and extremely nervous of everything.

The first few months were rather difficult as she was so frightened she wouldn't even go into the garden on her own.  I wondered if I would ever be able to take her for a normal walk or be able to let her off the lead in the park.

I must remember to wake-up for the News.

However, slowly she became more confident until today, as she totally ignored a noisy refuse van which passed right by her, I realized how far we had come.

She is such a darling, loves to play, chase sticks and run around, a real fun dog.  She's also now the right weight, her coat has grown nicely and her skin problems have disappeared.

I have lost Sarah the foster mum's phone number and I should be glad if you would let her know that Bonnie has settled down so well.  Sarah did such a good job in starting off her rehabilitation.

I have attached a photo of Bonnie which I hope you will be able to see to show how contented and at home she is!

My best wishes to you all.

Hi Lisa

As promised a photo of the best dog ever, Rosie.

Can't imagine the house without her now, wish we had met her long before.

A big thank you to all of you for making our family complete

Best wishes

To Animal Samaritans

Thank you so much for your kind donation towards my dog Sid’s operation costs, I was so touched by your kindness, it really did mean so much to me.

I shall tell you a little about my Sid.  I previously had another German Shepherd called Zep, who unfortunately had to be put to sleep because his back legs got really bad.  The lovely people at Ardmore surgery knew how much I missed him and heard of a dog who was in a bad way and in need of a good home.  I went to see Sid, he was full of mange and in a really poor condition, but I fell in love with his sad eyes and took him home.  It took lots of help from the vets and daily treatments for several months but it was worth it, he soon began to rally round and become the lovely dog he is today.

I was devastated when I found the lump and a biopsy showed it to be a very virulent cancer, the vet said x-rays would show if it had attacked his lungs, if not they would operate.  Luckily it had not spread so he was operated on, the lump and part of the adjoining muscle was removed.  I could not bear to think of losing him, and fortunately he seems to be making a rapid recovery, thanks to the skill and care of the people at the vets.

I have had Sid for almost 6 years and together with my other dog Chypa who was also a rescue dog they have made me a very proud dog owner.

I was really worried how I would be able to pay the vet’s fees and your kind donation has helped greatly.  Once again thank you.  I am enclosing some pictures of Sid and Chypa, also one of Sid after his operation.

Yours very gratefully

Kevin, Sid & Chypa
