If you see a cat on this page that
you would like to adopt, please consider the following first: Cat Flap: If you are considering adoption from Animal Samaritans we do require the cat has access to your home via a cat flap. This is to ensure that on bad weather days, your cat can get away from the rain and be safe and warm. If you have doors on which a cat flap cannot be fitted, we will accept a flap being fitted to a garage or shed as long as the building is safe and dry. Accommodation: If your property is on a busy road we will only consider homing an indoor only cat with you, for the cats safety. We can re home to flats, but once again, if the cat cannot gain direct access to outside via a cat flap, we would only consider homing an indoor only cat. ID: We will require 2 forms of ID for cat adoption. Also, proof that you are allowed to have pets if you live in rental housing. To avoid delays in adopting your pet, please ensure you have these documents available at the time of the home visit. Children: We do not re home any cats to households where there are children under 6 years of age. Family Decision: Having a cat should be a pleasant and rewarding experience for all involved. Please ensure that all household members are in agreement about adopting a cat & that nobody suffers from allergies to fur prior to calling. Forever Homes: When you adopt a pet you have made a decision to care for that pet for its entire life. This may be a 20-year commitment. Please think through this extremely important decision before you come us. A pet becomes a family member. A responsible pet owner/guardian makes life decisions to include their pets. Each year we still get hundreds of cats returned, for any number of reasons. Our goal is PERMANENT placement. For this reason, fosterers have been trained to help you find the right pets for your home and your lifestyle.
